Why is it so hard to figure out when you make or lose $ in a bond vehicle? I recently inherited $ invested in bond fund(INHYX to be exact) listed as a high yield tax exempt fund.
If Greenspan raises rates or if inflation heats up will I lose money or will bond rates go up ? I know for treasurys if rates go up your bond worth is less(if you sell) but do bond funds go up by purchasing bonds at higher yields?
I'm mid forties in high fed tax bracket so should I slowly liquidate this fund? Individual bonds(munis) more understandable?
Appreciate your topics on retirement since hope to get there 8-10 years.
