I would like to invest a small amount of money in near term cash equivalent investment. (12 months or less)

I already have some money in the equity market, which I consider the most volatile part of my investment, albeit long term.

The mutual funds that I have are also for long term.

I did not want to invest in CD's or money market's, and it's a pretty bad time for municipal bond's and the like, so my broker suggested what he considers 1 year investment strategies, i.e., buying EVJ, MUJ and the like.

Does anyone know where I can get more information on both of these?
EVJ and MUJ? (The info I got from him was not sufficient and I am very skeptical of any suggestions full service broker's make)

Or does anyone have any suggestions on short term (<1year) investments besides CD and money market accounts?
