I think we are at the bottom of the semi crash or close to it. I
already own a bunch of Applied Materials and I view LAM as a diversification into a really oversold group. Do I expect a recovery on a short term? No idea. However, with business sitting with record levels of cash and all of them with tech projects with high payback, it is only a matter of time for the dam to break and everybody to run in the opposite direction together. When that happens, there will be a very broad based recovery in the semis and probably over a long period of time. If you are a long term investor you don't care exactly when and if you want to own semis, now is the time to buy.
