BTW, there have been threads floating around about the PBS documentary "Frontline"; "The Untouchables", covering the failure to bring criminal prosecution to the executives of Wall Street banks in response to the mortgage meltdown.

The documentary focused at length on former Delaware senator Ted Kaufman who was appointed to fill the senate seat vacated by Joe Biden. Frontline was quick to point out that because Ted Kaufman was appointed, he had accepted no campaign contributions and was beholding to no one.

Ted Kaufman chaired the Congressional Oversight Panel that was pressing for prosecutions in the banking industry. As such Ted Kaufman was passionate in his defense of the American taxpayer. Ted Kaufman left office in 2010.

We need more leaders like Ted Kaufman.
