BTW.....I sent this last post to my daughter. She's a veterinarian. When she went off to vet school in 2003 (got that one right) she immediately joined the Ithaca Triathlon Club......her also a Spinning to road bike newbie (well, she had a Huffy as a kid so not quite the same) So although she was a solid member, her early history with the club was as the newbie struggling on the clunker of a bike. On one of the club's training rides, she was bringing up the rear as everyone got to the top of one of the many big azz hills they have in those parts and saw that everyone was unclipped on the right and kicking out at a stray dog that was worrying their ankles. By the time she got close, it looked as if the dog had given up in disgust and was sloping off so she didn't bother. It was a ruse. Just as she'd passed him, he wheeled round and latched onto her leg. Picturing it in my mind's eye it seems like it'd be something from a Tom 'n' Gerry cartoon.......she couldn't stop pedalling at the risk of falling over and this pooch wasn't going to let go. I think he hung on for a good half dozen pedal strokes. She's still got the scar.Vivienne
