I have my investments reinvested (TD AMERITRADE) I have a number of finace stocks [C ALD etc] that have been hammered but still pay the dividend. I also have a number of non dividend stocks that are holding up [ PWR RMCF AMSC]. I lived in Houston when the housing market fell through the bottom and inflation was a run a away in late 70's early 80's. I owned a house for 15 years and sold it for what I bought it for. If I had invested with more wisdom - good stocks and reasonable dividends I would be retired now. I corrected that mistake and have a solid portfolio. C is not going under but it may take a year or two to recover and when it does I will have the reinvested dividends to comeback strong. I still take fliers with some small cash to "play" the market [ I do own some F] but that is a small fraction. Follow Buffet and invest in quality and invest for the long term.
