Bush wrote more personalized letters. He should. He sent the soldiers to Iraq in a wild goose chase, against the advice of the UN weapons inspectors who were already there and who told him there were no WMD.And he sent troops to Afghanistan which were superfluous, because the CIA infiltration teams had already done a remarkable job in routing the Taliban. Unfortunately, as we later saw in Iraq (and New Orleans) there was no plan for "after" and nature abhors a vacuum, and things quickly deteriorated. Most of the deaths of soldiers belongs exactly on W's doorstep. He should still be writing the letters to soldiers, and to the American people for having f**ked up everything so brilliantly. (Seriously, is there anything that came out better after his eight years?)
