But if you move from a right handed house (of perfection) to a left handed house, you will notice. The differences are subtle but real.

They may be for real for house in your neighborhood but there isn't any difference where I live. Your front door issue is not a problem along with your parking on which side of the garage. I have two short steps from the garage to inside the house. My refrigerator sticks out further than my steps. If I were to park on one side of my left-handed house, it would be on the right side of the garage. Since we have two cars, we park both cars in the garage. (Actually, we have four cars and two are parked in the driveway.)
