But in this case, why the concern? This policy matters only to those who go out for sick leave or hospitalization immediately after they are hired.

Or who get sick and want to see a doctor.

Or those who have a spouse or child that needs to see a doctor.

Or those who take prescription meds for a chronic medical condition.

Or who have an accident and need emergency treatment.

It's not as if the only time one uses medical insurance is when one is too sick to go to work!

(And what about those retirement contributions?)
