But somehow it felt like everybody saw me being happy and wanted to remind me that I am still supposed to be a widow.

Oh I sure hope that wasn't their intention. Are you close enough with them to just tell them how you feel? If you could just get it out on the table, you might be surprised what their reasons were, and conversely, they might be really glad to hear how you're feeling about this.

I tend to think that maybe you're reading too much into it, but that's not really fair either, since I don't know you, or them. Just trying to look at it objectively.

Perhaps they felt that since you are seeming to be pretty up, it's now safe to discuss him without it hurting you? Anway, honesty between all of you can only help.
