But we honestly need more politicians who are fiscally conservative/have economic background vs. having sociology background...

Unfortunately, most of them are lawyers who have been nothing but politicians their entire working life. We really need politicians who have actually worked for a living!

I'll make one comment and drop it ... WHO would want to BE a politician? I was a campaign manager for a while and just saw really good people (including their family) who made solid, honest decisions TRASHED for no better reason than some small minded idiot thought they could. If you had a party label then "professionals" came after you. Jeez, you haven't lived until you shake hands with your "friends" and then take a shower at night to get the stink out. You have no idea how much a "modern" campaign costs -- ALWAYS, at every level, to costs more money than 99% can finance themselves.

No matter where you came from or what you did, you got trashed. Both parties, doesn't matter. This is a game for people who can wear long pants AND have solid, if not oversized ego's. The best have thicker skins than anyone could possibly imagine. Rant over.
