I notice that several people here buy games online from Funagain. That's all very well, but (to my dismay just too late, as I've just received a funagain delivery), I've discovered that a number of other online stores are much cheaper.

Some places to try are:
http://www.bouldergames.com/
http://www.gamessurplus.com/
and
http://www.fairplaygames.com/

Fairplay games also has a price match policy, where they TRY to beat their competitors prices.

Boulder games was a lot cheaper than Funagain. Fairplay was also a lot cheaper.

Had it not been for the fact that one game on my new list was cheaper at Fairplay, I'd have gone for Boulder. I'm hoping that Fairplay will match Boulder's prices on the other games, especially as Boulder have a $20 order minimum. Fairplay and Boulder's shipping costs seem about the same too.

Other places to get games, and to find out about games, and get English translations for German games is http://www.boardgamegeek.com/
They have quite a lot of games on offer in their market place, so you are buying direct from other users. It's not an auction site, but you can "make an offer" for the games. Some are new, some are used, and there's also a "Market watch" so you can see how much other copies of the game in their various conditions are being, or have recently been sold for.

Boardgamegeek is a great resource; it allows you to see how other players rank games, and also allows you to keep your own inventory, and while the market place is new, they have had people offering to trade for a long time. If people are willing to trade, but don't (yet) have it listed for sale, they may be willing to sell it if you get in touch.

Also, there's the Worldwide Gamer's Database, hosted by BGG at
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/wgd/ which will allow you to find local people who would like to play games... (or allow you to be found by others...)

[There does seem to be a small problem at the moment, in that quite a few people seem to have their country as Afghanistan rather than United States, but I've mailed the moderators to let them look into it. In the mean time, if looking for gamers, look at both the Afghanistan listed States, and the US ones...]

BGG also has discussion forums.

Hmm... maybe some of this should go in a FAQ. I'll happily write one if you like - if people want to make suggestions as to what else to put in it, please do.
