...by an unknown Repub teabagger.

The Repub party machine is running another guy against the incumbant teabagger. The Repub machine candidate has lots of money behind him too. I've been seeing his ads at least since March.

The tool of the machine

The teabagger that won by a fluke

The media noticed the fratricide

GOP establishment has turned its back on Rep. Kerry Bentivolio

Dismissed as a tea party gadfly when he challenged then-incumbent Rep. Thaddeus McCotter of Livonia in the 2012 GOP primary, Bentivolio found himself with the Republican field to himself after McCotter self-immolated in a fraudulent-filing scandal. Panicked GOP stalwarts tried to regroup behind former state Sen. Nancy Cassis, but her eleventh-hour write-in campaign fell short, and Bentivolio cruised to a general-election victory in a congressional district that had been gerrymandered to give any Republican nominee a prohibitive advantage
----
...when Bentivolio filed his latest campaign fund-raising report last week, it revealed that the high-profile Boehner event had netted his war chest only $12,000 from in-state donors.

Meanwhile David Trott, a foreclosure attorney favored by Patterson and other GOP face cards, has declared his intention to challenge Bentivolio in the 2014 GOP primary. A month into his campaign, Trott reported that he had already raised $650,000, more than any other congressional candidate in the state.

In short, the jig was up: Boehner had paid tribute where tribute was due, but the smart GOP money in Michigan’s richest county was backing Trott to be the next congressman from the 11th Congressional District.

Meanwhile, I'll have to vote Dem in the primary, so I can do my best to make sure that when the FBI comes to put the clinks on Bob Ficano, they'll not be perp walking him out of the Wayne County executive offices.
