If you don't compare at the same point in the TALC, it is a meaningless comparison. Indeed, any point in time is likely to be meaningless without the curve to look at.As for your "by any measure", there are many kinds of comparison that one can make and it is very clear that you aren't making them. They are different devices to different markets with different drivers. ISRG had a nice help coming out of the gate because of the "sensitivity" of the ED issue, which MAKO doesn't have. As they move into different markets, they don't have that same edge in other markets. To me, any comparison that doesn't look at the overall curve is going to be a crapshoot as to what it might say, especially if one compares different points in each company's TALC for each product ... hips being brand new for MAKO, for example.
