I'm in the market for a new cable modem. Apparently Time Warner isn't making enough money so now they have added a $3.95 monthly rental fee for their modems. My now five year old (or older) modem from there is going to cost me monthly. So I'm going to avoid their charge by buying my own modem. Since I have not bought one before, I'm not sure what makes one better than another. Time Warner has their list of approved modems. http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/residential-home/support/t...I already have a router so I don't need a modem with built-in wifi. Any suggestions?
