Just moved here (OK, two months ago). Living in 5 Cities area. Have been around SLO county. The best Pinot's by far this year are from Edna Valley: Talley, Domaine Alfred, See Canyon, Laetitia; superior to any SB wineries. Chardonnay weak this year. Laetitia's the best.
Paso Zin's again excel. A new one, Hansen, is my favorite. Not cheap at $38/bottle, but worth it.
Tobin James having another stellar harvest.
J. Lohr : good value.
Castoro : Excellent wines at half price to other vintner's.
Turley : overpriced, thought it was Gallo, rebottled.

My absolute top pick: Still Waters Syrah (Paso Robles) Strong tannins, but velvety smooth, with licorice, blueberry, and leather undertones. balanced enough for any but the most delicate of meals.
