Is this correct..??

Invest $ 10,000.00 in a Vanguard hi yld bond fund,30 day yld 10.22 %, reinvest dividens monthly..

if yield stayed constant(which it will not) One yr
total return would be: 12.142% ?

$ 10K X 10.22%= $ 1,012.00 divided by 12 =$ 85.16
reinvested each month.

Not great at math..

Don't have to be great at math. Click on this website and the information is all there for you. Please remember that in the High Yield Fund as in any Bond Fund, the value of your shares move up or down due to interest rates. However, the High Yield Fund share values tend to also go up or down based on Market Risk as well. If investors think that the economy is going into a recesion they will shy away from or even sell High Yielding Bonds because they fear that the Companies may not be able to pay the interest or worse may not be able to pay back the principle.
