I am 79 years young and have about 70,000 cash in C.D.and Passbook savings. My 48 year old nephew has been trying to get me to invest in the stockmarket with 50k. He says telecom mutual funds are the way to go.Is he correct? Is there a certain way I should invest because of my age?I am a homeowner.(no mortgage) and rent the upstairs 2 bedroom, garage, central air,1/2 acre for $1500 per month. My home is appraised at $450,000. I get approx. $3000 per month ,S.S., pension, diability from World War 2.(purple heart). Any help will be grateful.
