Can I use the 10 watt iPad charger with an iPhone?

You sure can - it will not charge the iPhone any faster than the iPhone charger, but it works.

Before my iPhone 5 (which uses a different cable), I used only one charger. Plugged my iPhone in at night to charge and my iPad in during the day. (The major use for my iPad at home is reading in bed.)
