Can someone please elaborate as to why the earth being 1 million years less or more old would have an impact on the economic health of America?

If the people making decisions for our country don't understand -- or refuse to believe -- basic science, how can we expect them to make sensible decisions on issues such as climate change, for which many experts have predicted significant economic impact in the areas like agriculture and food production, energy consumption, medical costs, insurance, tourism, and transportation.

If Hurricane Sandy was a preview of such impact, I want those decision-makers having a firm grasp of at least high school science.

We literally can't afford any less.
