Can the protagonist be young and smitten by this woman, who is young and naive herself? Meet and marry right out of school, before they really know who they are? She can evolved into a snooty woman who realizes she married "beneath her". A possible scenario could be her getting into the country club crowd.

This is the closest idea I have come to as well. Is it too cliche to make him a football player and her the rich girl? I guess she won't be in the story too long, but it has to set the guy up for the next steps in the story.
I will definitly check out the examples listed for dialog examples.

Thanks, I may have further questions as I work on the ideas I have been scribbling down for the last year or so.
