Capital gain rates are of no value, if they are negated by AMT.The AMT uses the same capital gain rates as the regular tax. The issue with capital gains and AMT is that large capital gains can push the rest of your income into AMT land.But the long-term capital gain itself still gets the preferential 15% max tax rate.--Peter
