We recently sold a condiminium that we owned for 15 years and have depreciated each year. We sold the unit for 6,000 less than we paid for it. Do we have to pay capital gains based on the depreciation deductions even though we sold at a loss? We use form 4562, S/L method,MM convention, over 18 years. Any tax gurus out there?
