i have 2 stocks in my portfolio that i am thinking of selling. i have held stock A for 3 years and would realize a substaintial gain.i have only held stock B for 4 months and if sold now the loss would equal the gain of stock A.can the loss be used to cancell the gain?any sugestions would be greatly appreciated.
