OK, I want to explain something up front. I've been in the computer industry for over a decade and been in e-commerce since 1998. I'm REALLY good at spotting e-mail spoofs, but this looks legit.

I am a Capital One Customer and do just about all my business online with them. Today in my in-box due to my good payment history they are offering me a Platnium Visa Card, I'm pre-approved, at 0% and then going to 14.9%. I just need to say I want it and pick out my design.

With my FICO in the relative toliet I have a hard time believing this is true. If it IS true than this has become a case of a good thing happening to a good person. I could transfer my existing balances, even at the bottom $5K credit line to this card at 0%, and get out from under interest rates of 18.9% to 24.99% - BUT BUT BUT - my "too good too be true" radar has gone off.

Has ANYONE out there ever gotten a credit card offer from Capital One, as a current customer, via e-mail. I figure my other option is to call them up and talk on the phone. With all the identity theft in the world I think you can understand my deep concern in responding.

If this is a spoof, it is a scary, scary, good spoof - it wasn't even caught by my SPAM filter.
