Capital Southwest Corporation (CSWC) is a business development companyIt's not the first time someone touting a company has called it a mini Berkshire, or an investor the next Warren Buffett. However, calling Capital Southwest a "Texas Berkshire Hathaway" is misleading. Berkshire Hathaway is not, and has never been, a "business development company." The author acknowledges that he is long the stock, so a little window dressing isn't surprising. And, yes if you'd bought this stock decades ago and forgot about it it would have been a good investment.Anyone can say pretty much what they like on Seeking Alfa, just as they can at TMF. Caveat emptor.I have no idea if this stock will prove a good investment in the future. The company's earnings have been lumpy in the past, but probably(?) hit a record high last year. The stock price is at historical highs if you exclude a brief run-up at the height of the market in 2007 and a brief recovery in '08. If a price CAGR chart is forthcoming from Mike I think, at the current stock price, it will prove to be disappointing.kelbon
