In college I have an experince with that certian card issuer who does affinity marketing for groups like Ducks Unlimited. This issuer sued myself after my University post office failed to foward my mail. After over a year of offering to pay the balance due, the case came to trial. The judge threw out the card issuers request to be paid attorney's fees and interest as I had proven that I had offered (over 9 times in writing) to pay the amount owed to the card issuer. (the judge also ordered the company to refund the interest I had paid to company due to their bad faith actions. It took over 6 months for the company to actualy cough up the dough.) This company spent at least $1,000 in fees to fail at a collection attempt of less than a $100 I offered to (and had already paid) pay them. Then they spend over a year misreporting the information to credit reporting agency's. Evey member of my family dropped this issuer's cards and now over 5 years later I am still passing this information on. The groups that allow themselves to be used by these companies need to know that when they become involved with issuers who do this like this the group suffers as many people choose not to become involved with groups and company's who support affinity credit card company's. This issuer involved was highlighted on Primetime for their abusive policy's. Anybody care to guess the name?
