If one wants to hold cash in a brokerage account (for example, while waiting for a better time to invest it), is there a way to "invest" the cash to preserve the capital while earning as much interst as possible. For example, this could be achieved by putting the cash into a money-market fund, but I don't know if any money market funds trade like stocks within a brokerage account. My broker is Ameritrade, so that I am particularly interested in knowing if they have this option. Thanks.
