Cat,

I wish I could recommend your post more than once.

In Israel, once a person has been okayed for gun ownership they can carry their weapons openly in public. In all the time I have ever been in Israel I have seen many many people carrying revolvers but never ever saw someone walking the streets with an assault rifle other than a soldier.

When my grandson comes home from the army on leave, he has to break down his assault rifle. remove the firing mechanism and bullets and hide the 3 different elements in different places in the house. I am pretty sure this may be army regulations. Too bad that mother in Connecticut did not have the proper respect for the damage that her weapon could do and treat it the same way.
