I have an elderly cat who recently took to staying in the bedroom window behind the curtain 24/7. She never came out that I was aware of not even to use the box. Not wanting her to starve to death I moved food and water to her spot and put a litter box just a few feet away. I'm afraid I may have just encouraged her to stay there. She was taken to the vet yesterday - I wanted to see about putting her on Prozac(it works for me) but he put her on Amitriptyline. Anyone out there have experience with this or suggestions on how to help her?She was an only cat for some time and since then the household has grown to eight cats. She does not like other animals and I think that is the root of the problem. I would gladly give her up to a good home where she would be an only pet if that would help her. Also I had a baby 14 months ago that she doesn't like. Also we recently moved to a new apartment and she no longer goes outside.
