Catholic Church, as quoted by Josh:Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception. From the first moment of his existence, a human being must be recognized as having the rights of a person - among which is the inviolable right of every innocent being to life. But suddenly when money is on the line, the Church is claiming just the opposite:http://coloradoindependent.com/126808/in-malpractice-case-ca...In malpractice case, Catholic hospital argues fetuses aren’t peopleCatholic Health’s lawyers effectively turned the Church directives on their head. Catholic organizations have for decades fought to change federal and state laws that fail to protect “unborn persons,” and Catholic Health’s lawyers in this case had the chance to set precedent bolstering anti-abortion legal arguments. Instead, they are arguing state law protects doctors from liability concerning unborn fetuses on grounds that those fetuses are not persons with legal rights. In this case, I hope the Church wins. That way precedent will have been set by the Church's own actions. And more importantly, it proves that the Church is more concerned with money than anything else. All the talk about "protecting human life" is nothing more than political theater.
