Some confirmation on the Edge replacement.Comments:* CD4.1 is the Fusion/Mondeo, CD4.2 is as the article says, CD4.3 is Taurus/MKS.... although it hasn't been announced.* The article says that the next Edge will have diesel, but I wouldn't bet money on it. Certainly, the CD4.2 will have it, but it may only be available for the S-Max, not the Edge. If Edge in North America gets it, I'd be pleasantly surprised. So far, Ford has been adamant that the extra cost of diesel doesn't make sense for the US market compared to the capability of EcoBoost.... maybe the cost equation is changing.* No word on new transmissions. Ford is starting to fall behind in the transmission biz, IMO. Chrysler is moving to nine speeds, Ford is still at six. Given Ford's reliance on turbochargers, it's possible that extra speeds won't help them much because the engines may not be able to efficiently drive vehicles in the upper gears without engaging the turbo. Dunno. You can bet they've been analyzing it.http://www.fordinsidenews.com/forums/showthread.php?8631-Nex...Rob
