As a beer enthusiast, I'm very disappointed to see that Miller is shutting down the Celis brewery in Austin. As I understand it, Pierre Celis almost single-handedly revived the Belgian wit style of beer, first in Belgium, and then in Texas.

I guess I can understand it as a business move, but to me it just reinforces my opinion that Miller is a large-quantity generator of American pisswater, not to be confused with good beer. (obvious editorial opinion) :-)

Hopefully someone will be able to come in and keep the Celis brand alive.
