I've noted in the past that I would continue to look at the supermarket shelf with an eye on the copetition, particularly post patent expiration. I had also observed that Maxwell House had taked a good chunk of shelf space for Senseo pods, which I thought were placeholders until they could get Kcups out. Well, early yesterday I noticed that indeed yes, Maxwell House moved strong onto the shelves with Kcup offerings (~5 as I recall). I expected a price undercut, but these were priced equivalent to the GMCR non premium brand. However the price on the older Roger's product (Kcup-like but intended as non-infringing product) was dropped in price. A 12 pack of GMCR and Maxwell House was $6.99 in the outlet, the Roger's product was $4.99 for 12. I buy the Roger's which does not honestly taste quite as good, but good enough for me.
