Charlie: The lowest yield went to whomever bought 10 at 88.540 and who probably did the trade through Vanguard, Schwab, Scottrade or AmeriTrade, all of whom gouge their customers with high commissions and/or mark-ups.'

FYI here's the current Schwab markup schedule for online trading:

Secondary Treasuries— including Bills, Notes and Bonds and TIPS : $0

All other Secondary Bond trades— CDs, Corporate Bonds, Government Agencies, Municipal bonds, zero-coupon Treasury Bonds, STRIPS and Mortgage-Backed Securities : $1/bond, $10 minimum, $250 maximum

Looks like Schwab's actually quite competitive with ETrade, one of your four recommended brokers?
