I suggest folks check out monthly dividends for stocks like HTE, AAV, CNE, PVX and others up north -- especially if these are in an IRA. These typically offer 10% or more (some up as high as 15%) on an annual basis, depending on price. Hold forever? Nothing is "forever", but these look awfully good just now.

Then look at American companies like B&G Foods (BGF - 44 cents per quarter) and Eagle Bulk Shipping (EGLE - about 50 cents per quarter).

Not shabby returns and generally increasing in price, too.

Just some thoughts. You do your own research.
