I'm sorry, but this seems to be one of the only answers to our current problems within the church. Celibacy simply cannot be justified any longer as a prerequisite for Holy Orders.

Also, we need to completely readdress the psychological assessment procedures for people entering the ministry. The usual instrument for the RCC is the MMPI, which is notoriously unreliable. Complete psychological evaluations need to be made of all candidates for ministry. This should be the case for all ministers, not just RC priests. We are laying hands on thesee people, thereby elevating them, setting them aside for the work of God. We must be far more careful, lest we lay hands on in haste, erring dreadfully.
