Classical liberals were staunchly pro-freedom and anti-tyranny. They believed in true education that included science.

Well let's see....

I believe in freedom, afterall I've been fighting the GOP in Indiana who wants to butt into my life, and tell me that M and I can't marry.

I don't believe in tyranny, yet the GOP is bent on compelling women to have children they might not able to care for. That seems like tyranny to me.

Education, I'm for it. I'm for making sure even the poorest student is assured of a good education; however the GOP in Indiana is trying to make access to quality education more difficult.

Science? I'm all for it; however I believe in keeping science as science, and religion as religion. I also believe that whether or not it is man-made, there are climate changes we need to address and be prepared for. I call that being pragmatic.

"Today's liberal is anti-freedom, pro-tyranny in the form of an omniscient nanny state, and in favor of teacher's unions (not students) and bastardization of science."

Hmmmm.....nope haven't met any of those people, but you almost described the conservatives of today.
