I see Apple grow revenue much more than MS in the near term.

Well. Thank you for answering your own question. Now let's go back to the original. If Apple is going to grow more than Microsoft, why would it trade at a multiple smaller than Microsoft? Heck, it's getting close to a Dell multiple. Does that make sense?

As for "competition", it's clear that PCs are under attack on many fronts; not only their own past history, but the emergence of tablets - and even smartphones which serve as substitutes for some. Where is Microsoft in this space, again? What would your projections be for their success in the next year? Two? Three? Care to venture a guess on the sales of Windows 8 tablets next year? And not just Microsoft's but all tablets with their system?

Standalone game consoles are also under attack, again by portable computing in tablets and smartphones. What is the Microsoft response, do you suppose?

Maybe that's a 'pretty good comparison' to you...
