Cliff, there’s a point I’d like to expands upon and that is as a fireplace as a pivotal place in a room’s seating placement.

In many rooms where there is a fireplace it serves as a focal point and many builders make a fireplace stand out by enhancing it through building out further than the main wall, putting in a mantelpiece, etc. When that’s done the fireplace is also made a center point by having decorative folding screens which, while they hide the fireplace’s opening when it is not in use, also add to making it a visual point.

Check out friends who have a fireplace and I’ll bet they have a sofa parallel to the fireplace and two single upholstered seats bracketing the sofa. The first place the new fangled TV sets were placed was to one side of the fireplace so seating changed but a little.

Just how big is your new TV, Chris?
