I watched the internet bubble from start to finish. My inherent investment style, value, stopped me from buying stock at a bizillion to 1 PE.

After watching internet double every 60 days for a while, I surrendered and bought what I thought was the best bet available, CMGI, at $375 I immediately wrote out of the money calls for around 35. ( numbers to best of bad memory).

Within a month the bubble burst and CMGI PLUMMETED. Forever the optimist I held until I took the short term loss of about $330 per share....all in less than a year.

I guessed I confirmed the adage that when individual investor start buying, the rally is over. A breathtaking ride. I'm still waiting for my stomach to catch up.
