C'mon, people! At least get a bluetooth headset so you can keep your hands near the brakes!

But I guess you can't fix stupid.

Sure you can! I was doing stupid on my cell when DW stopped in front of me. A trip over the front handlebars, a nice woman driver who stopped when she saw it and offered to call an ambulance, and ultimately minor injuries convinced me not to be "as" stupid anymore. I would advocate prevention though.

The thing I can't decide if it's stupid is listening to MP3's on earphones while riding alone. I really enjoy it, but it does distract from my ability to listen for cars coming from behind (I do have a mirror). It wouldn't seem worse than listening to the radio in a car, where you really can't hear a car coming from behind either.
