You mean, move in real life, right? It's hard to get a game in w/o moving :)

Everything should go alright....after a while. She gets to keep pretty much everything, so I'm going to be a while getting the new place furnished, but it'll be worth it not to have to live with her anymore! :)

My only hope is Mr. Knight keeping your rook out of this schlock.

Yeha...that knight is the only nice thing about this game...unfortunately, he's working for you!

I'm going to have to think about my next move for a bit. Got a slight advantage in devlopment and material, but unfortunately, your one little knight has the rest of my game completely locked up. Hard to find a good move anywhere. Can't even find a sacrifice that will let me get moving again.

Whoops -- I had the board flipped when I entered your 23. b3 move, and moved your g pawn to g3. Do you mind if I enter a different move for 23? I pondered this move for a long time, only to have the board set up incorrectly.

Thanks,

And there'd be a very good chance that you'd win. I enter the moves on Fritz 8, with the engine turned off and the "g" looked like a "b", so I typed in "b3". Either move was reasonable. I hope you don't think I tried to get you to fall for a trick, and you didn't, so now I'm trying to get my move back. I really thought you moved to b3. Thanks again!

Not thinking too clearly today....can't tell if this is a bad move or just a not-so-good move. It's absolutely astonishing just how devastating one little inactive knight can be. The price I pay for my miniscule material advantage.....I can't move anything!!! Win or lose, I think there are definitely gonna be some lessons to learn in this one. Especially about "outposts" :) The more I look at this position, the more I realize that I am screwed. I should have chased that knight off long ago when I had the chance.

I don't think you're in that deep of trouble. Your pieces will get out sooner or later. Hopefully they'll be so worthless that I can manage to get my two pawns back!

I'll let that pawn go for awhile. My knight likes a nice warm home right behind it. It keeps your connected rooks from pinning it, because my King is loitering in the parking lot of this board.

You are SO not sneaky

I thought you'd go with some pressure on my Kink with d4. I think you have to keep el-Knighto on f3, or you can try Ng5 to keep my knight off h3, although I don't know what good that does. Want to try a different move?

If you play 27. d4, then I'll still play 27...Nh3+ -- got to keep your knight where it's at.

Very interesting game, at any rate. I'd say I spent about 10 hours or more on this entire game. I went through some variations by hand until I posted that "Etiquette" thread around move 10, and then I quit doing that. I did manually play 27. d4 to see what it would look like. Pretty scary, and I'll lose some more pawns, but I think the pressure on your King will keep your pieces locked up.

If you want to keep playing, then just post a different 27th move. I owe you due to the 23.b3 mixup I had earlier in the game. I'd let you take it back anyway. Again, if 27.d4 then I'll play 27...Nh3+

Naw....we'll just call it a game, and a good one at that. Care to do a recap?
