There is a website called:www.epinions.comIf you go to the section on Colleges, you can find opinions about colleges written by current and former students. The number of opinions is somewhat limited, but maybe the people who run the site will work on obtaining more data.If you look for a particular college and click on the "more information" link, you can find an interesting feature called "Counselor-o-Matic." In this section, students fill in information about themselves (i.e. grades, scores, extracurriculars, essay quality, recommendations, etc.) and the program calculates your chances of getting into a particular school. Of course, the college admisssions process is highly subjective, especially at selective schools. Counselor-o-Matic indicates chance of admission in the following way:"shoo-in, good chance of getting in, probably will get in, shot at getting in, probably won't get in, and poor chance of getting in." I wouldn't necessarily use Counselor-o-Matic to discourage a student from applying to a school, but it does give an interesting perspective on what colleges are considering in the admissions process.
