Not going to the hospital could make the case unprosecutable even if they catch the guy (which is pretty much impossible at this point). No proof of the injuries means the prosecutor probably wouldn't go ahead with charges unfortunately. It would get triaged out. Sucks, but I've seen cases with more evidence of wrongdoing get bounced for sillier reasons.

Now your insurance company, THEY would go after him with a vengence.


I had about a dozen poeple tell me that. The thing is, I have an HDHP/HSA. If I go to the emergency ward and get hit with $2000 bill, I pay it. So I figured well, it's just one more accident in my lifetime of which I've had so many...mostly sport's related.

If I thought anything was wrong, I would have gone.
