My husband quit his job at the end of July. We haven't yet rolled over his 401(k) to an IRA, but we plan to do so. Part of the company match was in company stock. I seem to recall that there's a trick for dealing with company stock in 401(k)s, but I don't remember the details. Am I imagining this, or does anyone know what I'm talking about? There's one other aspect of this: we just got a statement from Vanguard saying that the company stock was pulled out of the account and exchanged for shares in the money market fund. I'm guessing that the exchange occured automatically because the stock isn't publicly traded and he's not allowed to continue owning it.- Parkway
