I'm building a new desktop for gaming, which will go downstairs in our living room. I now need a desk for it. The only issue is that I'd like something pretty compact and thin. Modern looking is good...basically I don't want a giant wooden beast. But it also will need to be comfortable to sit at and play.

Kicker being that space is somewhat limited. I've got 6.5 feet of space right now between the wall and couch where I want it to go. I can move out a mini-book shelf which the kids used to use when they were toddlers which frees another half foot. I can also move the couch a touch for a few more inches if need be. It will also need space for me to get into the area, because it'll be between a wall and couch, in front of another wall, so there's only going to be one way in and out. So bottom line, the thing's gotta be probably no wider than 5 feet, ideally around 4 or so.

So, any recommendations here? I've seen a good bit online surfing around, but not sure if anyone has a recommendation or something for me to think through or whatever...
