Considering the market these two companies are in: Internet Service creators, perhaps Chicago provides a contact with a relatively untapped market of customers. Sears, Amoco, Navistar, numerous other major industrial leaders who struggle with the very issues you mention. Moving to Silicon Stagnate areas just puts this comnpany in the also-ran category amongst companies that already have many of these same capabilities.

Besides, dispite your particular position, there are numerous folks who prefer to live in the midwest but perhaps aspire, even excel at software and internet capabilities.
