Consumer Reports ranked Nordstrom #1 in customer service a couple years back. REI was #1 mail order... must be a Seattle thing.

I expect Nordstrom will rebound, but it is a cutthroat industry, and the lost business won't be that easy to get back. They have come back before, although I expect this time will be a longer road.

The last thing I want to do, ever, when I shop, is invent myself, let along reinvent myself. I'm a guy, and I suspect I'm not alone amongst my gender. Your store may have been hugely out-of-touch before, but I don't think that should be misconstrued a testament to the success of the ill-conceived marketing campaign. Sounds like any change towards the under-40 crowd would have helped your store.

I will keep my eye on this company as I do think a rebound is likely, but it might not show up on the bottom line for 18 months in my opinion. Still, would like to see the champion of customer service succeed as they should.
