I was thinking it was probably about time I convert my paper bonds to electronic bonds. I wanted to make I understood the process so I thought I'd post here and see what everyone has to say....

I have the following types of paper bonds:
Series E
Series EE
Series I

Will Treasurydirect accept all of these bond types?

If so, then is this what I do:
1. Open an account at Treasurydirect
2. Go to the bank and sign the back of all the bonds in front of a teller
3. Snail mail my signed bonds to Treasurydirect

Now, one last question...
Some of the bonds that I have are in my pre-married name, is that going to pose a problem? If so, how to I get around it?
